12 Swedish Dining Chairs from Lindome
Matched set of 12 19th Century dining chairs from the Lindome area of Sweden. Circa 1830-1850.
These lovely chairs embody a classic Swedish design, with their refined and rectilinear form adorned with extensive carving to the frames.
This set has been compiled over many years, so each frame is slightly different but they still have an attractive uniformity.
Embodying a simple provincial feel, with square backs and H- stretchers. Resting on front column reeded and tapering legs.
Agricultural themes are common to all of the chairs, with carved bunches of grapes to the cresting rails and some of the aprons.
The frames are also adorned th egg and dart moulding, reeding, and roundels to some of the square sections at the top of the chair legs.
All with open backs with simple wheatsheaf style pierced splats, with various central carved motifs.
The paint has been refreshed, and old layers are still visible in parts. The seats have been re-covered in a fresh and neutral linen.
These chairs have a light and joyful feel to them. They will be suitable for contemporary and period interiors alike.
