18th Century Aubusson Tapestry

SKU
WD2833755

Tapestry woven in the royal workshops of Aubusson in the 18th Century in wool and silk, surrounded by a later yellow and blue braid.

In a classic verdure setting with rich well preserved colours centred with a classic depiction of a distant village. To the foreground, two birds, one perched in a tree, the other at the water's edge, observe each other, surrounded by a bed of flowering plants.

A rare vivid and fresh quality to the colour.

Tapestry lined and mounted on velcro for easy installation.
