18th Century Dutch Oak Cabinet
Splendid 18th Century Dutch Oak Cabinet of Panelled Form.
This interesting cabinet is of 18th century date and Dutch manufacture and the oak is of light tone and colour. Distinctly architectural in its inspiration, this piece of furniture has a dentilled frieze supported by corbels which in turn sit above fluted columnar mouldings that act as the dividers between the various small and large cupboard doors (three at the top, two larger doors in the base section).
The doors of the cupboards are carved with geometric fielded panels, the smaller doors at the top centred on finely carved star motifs.
The sides of the cabinet are also panelled and it stands on plain stile feet.
