18th Century traditional Biot pot.
The village of Biot (on the Côte d’Azur near Antibes) was famous for the quality of its pots which were mainly used for storing olives.
Comes with glazing to the internal rim to deter insects from crawling in.
A very solid pot with wonderful patina only achieved with age, some historic minor repairs only adding to age to the timeworn patina.
Within today's home, these pots make for very decorative and collectable items.
