  • H: 236 cm (92 15/16")
  • W: 145 cm (57 1/16")
  • D: 48 cm (18 7/8")

Beautiful 18th Century French buffet a deux corps, with its original paint and glass.

This buffet a deux corps features an elegant bonnet top with elegant scroll details to the cornice.

Offering both display and storage, the top section features glazed doors which enclose three shelves. To the bottom section, two panelled doors open to reveal another two shelves.

This piece retains its original cream paint, with remains of old blue paint creating a stunning distressed effect. The paint is nicely complemented by the blue tassels to each key. The whole is supported on wide bun feet.

The buffet a deux corps was designed to be both functional and beautiful- purposes they still fulfill today.

'A deux corps' literally means 'in two bodies' and this cupboard separates into two pieces. Such furniture was built this way so that it could be transported through the narrow doorways and corridors commonly found in 18th Century France.

This piece will bestow rustic and elegant charm on any interior.
