18th Century French Burr Ash Enfilade
Grand 18th Century French Enfilade or Sideboard in Figured and Burr Ash Timber of Substantial Quality with Stunning Original Marble Top.
This lovely enfilade, or sideboard cabinet, is French provincial and was made in the Louis XVI period at the end of the 18th century. Of architectural form, it has column form pilasters which link directly to the large block feet at each end and in the middle of the piece between the cupboard doors. The doors are of panelled construction with original locks and the interior of each cupboard has a single thick, heavy duty shelf.
The enfilade is constructed throughout of fine timber which has acquired a lovely colour and patination. Unusually it retains it's original thick marble top.
This is an elegant and unusually refined example of an enfilade from this period.
