With exceptional quality all original metalwork. This lovely commode is made from figured cherry wood. Having panelled drawer fronts with rococo cartouches and arch-shaped panelling to the sides.
At the base of the piece is a shaped apron with high relief rocaille carving incorporating scrolls and shell-like details. It stands on short cabriole legs with ormolu mounts. There are also mounts to the top of the canted pilasters and substantial ormolu drawer handles and escutcheon plates.
The commode retains its original rouge marble top with moulded edge. The marble is largely of dark red colour with white and black streaks.
