18th Century French Louis XVI Period Mahogany Commode
A late 18th Century French Louis XVI period mahogany and ormolu mounted commode.
This commode is veneered in mahogany of great colour and patina. It has projecting columnar pilasters to each side and terminates in toupie feet of long length.
Having fine ormolu mouldings around each drawer, with extra mounts to top of the pilasters and to the toes.
The sides are panelled and cross-banded and the commode retains its original black and white mottled marble top, shaped to follow the projecting pilasters, which is a sign of quality and attention to detail.
