18th Century Swedish Poudreuse

  • H: 78 cm (30 11/16")
  • W: 99 cm (39")
  • D: 48 cm (18 7/8")

Beautiful Swedish poudreuse of superb quality. Stockholm, circa 1760.

This piece exhibits the curvaceous, feminine shape of Rococo style. It was originally veneered, but this was removed in the mid 19th Century.

The poudreuse has since been scraped back to its 19th Century paint, which is a lovely pale green colour. The colour is nicely complemented by the gilded escutcheons.

Historic repairs to one of the sabre legs.

This is a lovely decorative and functional piece, which would make a charming console, commode or dressing table.

Unique and rare find.
