19th Century William IV Side Cabinet

  • H: 120 cm (47 1/4")
  • W: 92 cm (36 1/4")
  • D: 44 cm (17 5/16")

19th Century late Regency/William IV side cabinet.

With extraordinary trompe l’oeil painted door panels signed by the painter James Maggs of Bath and dated 1837.

A cutting from an old magazine, probably Country Life, pinned to the inside of the left door gives more information and would suggest that this piece has passed through the upper echelons of the antique trade in the 1950s/60s.

A superb piece of storage furniture that would suit both classic and contemporary interiors!
