An impressive 19th Century English gilt bronze and alabaster country house plafonnier. 


The finely cast ceiling boss with flowing acanthus leaves, swags and berries, supporting four heavy chains with shield-shaped links holding four twin-branch bronze light fittings, joined by further swags and berries attached to a shallow lobed alabaster dish. 


Finished with a gilt bronze finial, also decorated with acanthus leaves and berries. 


Minor chips and losses to the alabaster dish with historic restoration.
