19th Century English Mahogany Turned Spindle Armchair
Mid-19th Century English mahogany turned spindle armchair of excellent quality.
This is a great example of the art of the wood turner, the arms and back splat being formed of a series of turned spindles which have been beautifully executed. The legs have also been finely turned and have leaf decoration.
Originally designed as a library armchair or for a gentleman's study, this fine chair has been fully restored by us and upholstered to an under finish, ready for the client's choice of outer fabric. This is a chair with very strong lines and it is also strong in the practical sense.
Circa 1845-60.
