Fine quality mahogany cellarette of sarcophagus form.
The cellarette was essentially a wine cooler, and these were a very important piece of furniture in the late 18th and early 19th Century.
Cellarettes were key to entertaining guests in style, and will serve much the same function today.
This beautiful flamed mahogany has a wonderfully rich patina and is raised up on delightful lion's paw feet.
The interior retains its original zinc lining and draining plug and tray.
