19th Century French Glazed Earthenware Jug

  • H: 6.5 cm (2 9/16")
  • W: 5.5 cm (2 3/16")
  • D: 5.5 cm (2 3/16")

19th Century French small glazed earthenware jug.

This charming jug is from the Alsace region of France where the potteries have been making beautiful glazed earthenware for hundreds of years dating back to the Bronze age.

'Art Populaire' at it's best.

This one would have been a cream jug - its glaze is brown on yellow. A slight chip on the spout but so cute!

Circa 1880.
