19th Century French Mahogany Guéridon
Interesting 19th Century French Mahogany Guéridon with Fine Ormolu Mounts.
Standing on a tripartite platform base, this table has acquired a fine surface and colour. The original marble top has an elaborate carved moulding to the edge, a detail that we have not seen before, which would have required a great skill to follow the circumference of the top, then going into a nice moulded shape, a sign of excellent quality.
The ormolu mounts are of outstanding quality with repeating hexagonal geometric motifs to the tops and bases of the legs, the whole standing on ormolu feet and partially concealed castors.
This is a very high quality and attractive table.
