19th Century French Provencal biot jar in lovely condition.
These Biot jars are made from a mixture of red and grey clays to achieve the desired colour and are distinctive for their classic shape. These pots originate from the South of France, named after the coastal village of Biot, near Cannes, traditionally used to store flour, preserves and olives.
Beautiful patina all over this pot which is suitable for use in the home or garden. Would make a magnificent planter.
