Charming lifesize model of a seated dog, with hid turned and an inquisitive expression on his face.
He has clearly spent all his life indoors as the condition is very good and has a smooth built up patina over the whole surface. Circa 1860.
This superb well sculpted model of terracotta dog was crafted and signed by the well-known 19th century atelier of Jean Garouste in Castelnaudary in Southwestern France.
