19th Century Nigerian Tribal Glass Bead Necklace

  • W: 72 cm (28 3/8")

Beads have been traded in Africa for hundreds of years - the local people loved them and each tribe have their favourites.

The main source of these beads was Venice where the glass makers were producing beads in large numbers.

These gorgeous turquoise glass beads are from Nigeria, West Africa - these are circa 1900 but they have probably been making these necklaces for many years and they are still wonderful to wear now.
