Monumental 19th Century Henry II style bleached walnut four poster bed.
This bedstead features superb hand-carved details to the family crest in the headboard.
This would have been commissioned most likely by a wealthy landowner or industrialist during the second empire period. It was bought from a large chateau in the Loire valley near Nantes.
It incorporates original crewel work panels in the headboard and canopy which could possibly be cleaned by a specialist; the bed works well with or without these panels.
Takes a 5’6” wide x 6’3” length mattress.
