19th Century rare sorcerers mirror in ebonised and gilt frame.
These mirrors originated in the 17th Century.
The reverse convex optics in the glass distorts light and reflections and were thought to aid scrying.
The mirrors became popular again in the 19th Century when interest was high in all things uncanny and they were produced as interesting talking points, as well as decorative objects.
