Wonderful 20th Century Azerbaijan kilim.
Azerbaijan has a rich history of rug weaving going back several centuries. Due to its geographic location, it stands at the crossroads of various cultures and the rugs bear this significance in their decorative richness and beauty.
The rugs and kilims are highly sought after for their wide range of designs and creative use of vegetable dye colours.
Having a flat woven pile, we would recommend placing the underlay underneath ( which can be provided ) to make sure it stays securely on the floor.
This is an interesting early 20th Century Azerbaijan kilim with a creative drawing and natural dyed colours that aged nicely. In very good practical condition for everyday use.
