20th Century Persian Kashan Carpet

Antique Kashan carpets rank as one of the finest of all Persian weavings. The city of Kashan was the center of fine rug creation during the 16th-century Safavid period.
Some of the best classical pieces are attributed to this time. High category of superior quality carpets were woven at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th Century.
This sophisticated example has a creative, well-balanced drawing and is framed by a tasteful border. The clarity of the drawing is attributed to the remarkable quality of the carpet.
The rare array of vegetable-dyed colours including ivory, grey, caramel, and sky blue accents are particularly pleasing and have aged nicely over time. These attributes are not common in this type of weaving.
This fine Kashan carpet is in very good practical condition for everyday use. It has still retained its original plain borders and fringes on both sides.
