30cm Shibori Alleppey Silk Lampshade

These lovely gathered lampshades are part of the Shibori range. 

Shibori is an ancient Japanese dyeing technique that typically involves folding, twisting or bunching cloth and binding it, then dyeing it. 

These shades are made from Tussar silk, a type of raw silk with a lovely texture and the dying technique leaves the silk with a crinkled finish, reflecting the pattern of ripples in the sand.
