Late 19th Century French painted linen press cupboard. Circa 1880.
This charming provincial linen press separates into two sections, making it easy to transport.
The top section is defined by the extremely striking and pronounced broken arch cornice, which gives this cupboard fantastic presence and character.
The rest of the piece is of simple rectilinear form with lovely proportions.
At the top, two double-panelled doors enclose an empty interior with old paint and wood showing through.
The bottom section provides two panelled drawers with pretty swan neck handles.
The charming and attractive warm blue paint is worn in places which only adds to the rustic appeal of this piece.
