Handsome 18th Century commode from 'Skane' in Southern Sweden.
This commode is simple in design so is therefore typical of 18th Century furniture from this area.
It has three good-sized drawers with their original brass handles and escutcheons. The original caramel-coloured painted finish with a black top and feet has been touched up more recently.
Made of pitch pine, this is an excellent and authentic piece with great style and stability.
Circa 1780.
