Late 19th Century Veramin Carpet
Late 19th Century Veramin carpet.
Veramin carpets are recognised as exceptional workshop weavings for their quality crisp drawings and their variety of vegetable dyed colours. They are widely appreciated for their creative drawings in comparison to traditional rugs from neighbouring regions.
This is an elegant Veramin carpet from the late 19th Century with a remarkable tight weave which explains the clarity of its crisp drawing. The light sky-blue field compliments the spacious drawing, framed by a wide terracotta border.
The charming pomegranate design is derived from early Azerbaijan rugs of the 18th century and symbolises prosperity, fertility and longevity.
This antique Veramin carpet is in very good overall condition for everyday use, still retaining its original borders and short fringes on all sides.
A stylish and understated example to complement classic or contemporary spaces.
