19th Century Perpedil Rug
This Perpedil is a fabulous discovery as it is rare to find an early Perpedil in such great condition.
Early Perpedils are renowned for their high-quality weaves and creative drawings which can be appreciated here by the precision and clarity of the multiple borders with differing complexities, together with a rare terracotta field.
The array of colours and shapes create a true work of art that will be appreciated by connoisseurs. Antique Perpedil rugs are unique among the rugs from the Caucasus as they feature the distinctive, highly stylised ram's horn motif, making them popular and much sought-after.
They are also appreciated for their unique drawings in comparison to other Caucasian rugs.
This 19th Century Perpedil has had age-related restoration carried out to a very high standard and is in very good condition for everyday use.
