20th Century Kashan Carpet
Early Kashan carpets are highly appreciated for the classical precision of their drawings and fine weaves.
The city of Kashan was the centre of fine rug weaving during the 16th Century Safavid period and some of the best workshop pieces are attributed to this period. An exquisite workshop weaving of the 1930’s with a wonderfully crisp drawing.
The rare ivory field provides the perfect backdrop for the creative drawing and array of vegetable-dyed colours that have nicely aged.
This Kashan is framed by a wide border and is in excellent condition, still retaining its original outer borders and fringes on both sides.
A stylish carpet with the versatility to blend in a wide variety of settings.
