Lovely French 19th Century baluster lamp.
Balustrades are small columns that typically line a staircase or balcony. The term was created by 17th Century Italian's because of its 'bulbous' form which is pronounced "Balaustra" in Italian.
This lamp would have originally functioned as a balustrade within a French building but has been converted into a stylish table lamp.
Because of its stylish, charcoal linen lampshade and ochre base, this lamp will bring a touch of opulence and glamour to wherever it is placed.
