Extraordinary and rare French 18th Century chest of drawers. 

This wonderful piece is of the most unusual design, constructed from walnut and cherrywood. 

Above the three drawers is a beautiful frieze carved with swags. The drawers themselves feature inlaid chevron decoration surrounding the circular brass handles. 

The drawers are flanked by circular columns which are surrounded by brass capitals, resting on star inlaid block feet. 

This chest of drawers has gorgeous attention to detail throughout, with arched top panelled sides and ebonised borders. 

Because of the unusual design and decoration of this piece, it may well have been specially commissioned. 

Circa 1800.
