Early 20th Century Lori Carpet
This striking Lori carpet dates to the beginning of the 20th Century and is finely woven in soft silky wool.
The muted blue-grey field provides a great contrast to the bold graphic drawing, framed by a wide ivory border. The variety of colours is all vegetable dyed which have aged nicely.
Antique Lori carpets were woven by nomadic tribes in southern Persia and these gorgeous pieces come with a rich history and tradition. These high-category tribal weavings are widely appreciated for their individuality, exceptional quality and create simple designs with wonderful colour combinations which sets them apart from other rugs.
This antique Lori carpet is in excellent condition.
A timeless example that would be a great addition to classic or contemporary settings.
