20th Century Anatolian Carpet of Serapi Design
20th Century Anatolian carpets of Serapi Design.
This attractive and great-quality Anatolian rug was made in the last quarter of the 20th Century that is much simpler than other examples of its type.
The harmonious array of vegetable colour has a natural colour variation that adds great depth and richness to the simple drawing.
The piece is handwoven, in lustrous wool-on-wool foundation (rather than in cotton), which contributes to its durability and years of usage.
The array of muted tan, light blue, green and ivory work well in this stylish rug. The squarish format is also uncommon.
In excellent condition, this interesting example displays naive drawing to add great character to a variety of interior styles.
