Albin, known as one of the greatest entomological book illustrators of the 18th Century, often quotes by Linnaeus.
Hand-coloured plates after Albin's drawings by Vander Gucht.
Hullet, and Terrasson, show each the life cycle of one or two butterfly species, along with the host plants.
Each plate with accompanying text leaf with annotations by W Dereham (1657-1735).
Each of the plates is dedicated to the subscribers of the In hand made and pained wooden frames, painted in Farrow & Ball.
