Contemporary Art Deco Carpet
Art Deco carpets, inspired by the bold geometric forms of Modernist art, flourished in the 1910s to 1930s and produced what collectors now regard as a unique high-point in 20th Century textile design - as the critic Rene Chavance wrote in 1927, of all the decorative arts, carpet making most embodied the 'visionary aims of the times.'
This contemporary example represents a faithful reimagining of the iconic Art Deco pieces of the early 20th Century. This work features a muted champagne field, with a minimalist geometric pattern in darker tones across the centre.
Its open composition and simple, restrained pattern, lends this piece an air of understated elegance.
A wonderful choice to compliment a contemporary interior.
