An 18th century Chippendale period country house mahogany partners/ freestanding desk, standing on a plinth base, one side with six short drawers and three paper/pen frieze drawers, all with original handles, the other side with two doors faced with six dummy drawers revealing 24 small drawers with brass knob handles and bone letters, below three paper/pen frieze drawers, the frieze with blind fretwork, the top with a wonderful weathered and used inset tooled leather, the sides with original carrying handles. English circa 1765-70.
