20th Century David Hill oil on board painting depicting classical figures.
David Hill was an American artist from 1914-77 who grew up in Cleveland Ohio. He worked and painted in New York from 1942- 7 and moved to Paris in 1947.
In 1957 he bought a house together with the Canadian artist Joseph Plaskett and was his companion until David's death in 1977.
Apparently, parties at the house were legendary.
