This mixed-method monochrome landscape engraving is by Francisco Bartolozzi and William Woollett. 

The mythical lovers are depicted in a windswept grove, with Carthage in the distance and a huge storm gathering on the horizon. 

It was published by Elizabeth Woollett, London, 1787. It is inscribed with a dedication to Catherine the Great. 

This fabulous engraving is presented in a distressed silver gilt frame which is a wonderful complement to the subject matter.
