Beautiful early 19th Century, French, zinc and brass rafraichissoir in the Neo-Classical style.
This stunning piece has a zinc body with a brass rim, banding to the waist and base. It stands on beautiful garlands with feet terminating on neo-Classique masques sitting on clam shells.
This rare and exceptional piece serves as a champagne or wine cooler but also makes an exquisite cache pot.
Some signs of wear and restoration to the zinc are commensurate with age and use.
