Early 20th Century Gilded Rope Twist Armchair

Early 20th Century French carved gilt wood rope twist beech armchair. The gilding is a good colour and the chair is probably in it's original tapestry upholstery which is commensurate with age but perfectly comfortable. 

This chair is after a design by the French designer A.M.E.Fournier, who was active from 1850 in Paris and his rope twist, upholstered furniture was an enduring favourite.
