ARE THE SHOWROOMS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC?

Yes, the showrooms are all open to the public during the hours listed below. Please note that, due to the amount of stock that we hold, some items are in nearby storage. If you are coming to view a specific item, please do contact the showrooms prior to your visit so we can ensure it is ready for you.

CAN I RESERVE PIECES?

We are happy to reserve most pieces for up to 7 days. Please note that we are not able to reserve pieces any longer after the initial 7 days.

WHAT IF A PIECE NEEDS REUPHOSTERY OR RESTORATION?

Some of our pieces are sold ready for reupholstery or restoration. We have our own upholstery studio at Lorfords.

If you would like a quote for reupholstery work, please enquire with one of our sales managers.

If you would like restoration or modification to a piece, we are happy to assist with quotes and pass along the relevant contacts for you to make arrangements.

HOW LONG CAN I STORE PIECES AT LORFORDS?

We are able to store items for clients for a maximum of 8 weeks. If a client requires storage for longer than this, a fixed fee will be charged. Please contact the sales team for relevant fees.

Buying Online FAQ's
HOW CAN I MAKE A PURCHASE ONLINE?

To purchase items online, simply add the items to your shopping basket and proceed to checkout. You can make a payment with your Credit/Debit card.

HOW DO I PAY FOR MY ITEMS?

Online: We use the online payment gateway SagePay, who adhere to the most stringent levels of security, ensuring your details remain secure throughout the transaction process.

Showrooms: We accept payment via card (all major card providers), cheque or bank transfer. Payment terms are strictly 7 days.

All prices are exclusive of delivery costs.

Goods remain the property of Lorfords until full payment has been received.

IS VAT APPLIED TO MY ORDER?

All antique goods are sold on VAT Margin Scheme, unless otherwise stated.

‘Created’ pieces attract VAT at the standard rate (20%). Customers outside of the EU will see VAT deducted after a delivery address has been confirmed.

HOW DOES ‘MY ACCOUNT’ WORK?

You need an account to purchase items online and registering also enables you to make the most of all our services, including: storing personal information for ease of future orders, accessing a summary of all your Lorfords orders, maintaining wishlists and reserving items online (coming soon). You will also be notified first about our latest products.

You can amend your personal details by clicking the ‘Sign In’ section of the website.

WHAT IS A WISHLIST?

Wishlists are personalised lists of the items you love, which you can create and store in your account.

As part of this service, you have the ability to create multiple wishlists – which can then be shared with clients/friends via e-mail or social media. You can add or remove items from your wishlists whenever you are logged in.

Delivery FAQ's
WHAT IS AN APPROVAL DELIVERY?

Approval delivery can be arranged on most pieces at Lorfords. You will need to pay the relevant delivery charge but are then able to view the piece in your home. We are happy to try to get pieces into place for you but reserve the right to make any restrictions to this based on the size or condition of the piece and access on site.

HOW CAN I ARRANGE DELIVERY OF MY PURCHASES?

We have a dedicated delivery team, relationships with specialist couriers and contacts within most major UK international shipping companies. We are happy to arrange domestic delivery for most pieces; please ask for a quote at the time of purchase.

For international shipments, we can arrange quotes with shippers for you and are happy to put you in contact with the relevant contacts in those organisations to make arrangements.
