Fine Cut Crystal & Silver Collar Decanter Hallmark

A fine quality late Victorian cut crystal decanter with a solid silver collar and the original facet-cut teardrop stopper, hallmark date 1899, stamped with the makers mark for Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Company (which later merged with Garrard The Crown Jewellers). 

The exquisitely cut body of the decanter has a star cut base which also has a historic polished out chip to the rim, which is not particularly noticeable but worth mentioning. 

Items which were of value were regularly treated to repairs rather than waste them, and arguably add to the charm of an antique.
