Beautiful French 19th Century square gilt gesso mirror, circa 1840.
This large mirror is in amazing condition for its age - a glowing testament to the quality of the original craftsmanship.
The frame is ornately carved with incredible detail. The red bole clay and gesso shows through the gilding to give the frame an additional layer of decorative impact.
Some rubbing and small losses to frame as well as foxing to the plate, as expected from a piece of this age.
A special mirror that will look fantastic in any interior.
