Late 18th Century French ramoneur cotton quilt, so-called chimney sweep because of its dark ground, block printed with madder red and bleu de pastel flowers that are surrounded by trailing flowered leaves.
With a glazed finish. The reverse was a later circa 1880s printed cotton.
In good overall condition with some small splits in the cotton, due to the nature of the brown dye, in a few places.
