English pewter cocktail set by Gerald Benney for Viner, Circa 1960s.
This set comprises of a wonderfully tall Martini cocktail jug with six matching pewter tankards, each with long cocktail stirring spoons. Each piece has polished deep rims and handles with a hammered main body.
Gerald Benney was one of the most outstanding and influential British goldsmiths and silversmiths of the second half of the 20th Century. During a career spanning more than 50 years, he was the first British craftsman to hold four Royal Warrants simultaneously.
Benney's strong designs continue to be recognised as some of the finest of that era.
