Pair of Crested English Serving Dishes
SKU
DA1511776
Pair of silver plated, lidded serving dishes. Engraved with the crest & motto 'Ne Oublie' [Do Not Forget]. It is the crest from the arms of the Duke of Montrose, Chief of Clan Graham. The crest, of an eagle killing a heron, is surrounded by a buckled belt. This may be due to the Graham early properties having good salmon fishing and could explain an antipathy to herons. Silver plated by Goldsmith Silversmiths Co. Ltd, Regent Street W.
