Set of Six French Folding Bistro Chairs
SKU
CH4413355
Gorgeous set of six French folding bistro chairs, circa 1920.
These charming chairs feature wooden slatted seats and backs on a folding iron frame.
They are painted throughout in a wonderfully distressed mustard yellow. Retaining the painted name of the Fort-Carré brewery across the tops.
Furniture that could be folded up and stacked away at the end of the day was essential to bistro culture from the 19th Century onwards.
It allowed owners to accommodate more customers and avoid paying rent for a fixed terrace.
These chairs will bring a dose of French bistro culture to any indoor or outdoor space.
