Large 18th Century French Decorative Faience Pilgrim's Bottle
SKU
DA7532773
Large 18th Century Pilgrim's Bottle with check design in green, ochre, brown and blue glazes.
Almost full circle body with slightly flatterend sides front and back. A strap or cord would have been passed through the four suspension loops.
A large "P" is painted beneath and a minor repair made on the base rim. Historically used for carrying water, this particular bottle was perhaps intended for decorative use.
