Marked verso "FRAGET N PLAQUE" (which means "FRAGET SILVER PLATE") With profuse foliate decoration and a time-earned patina. It has been left unpolished but would come up as a treat if desired.

Produced by the famous Warsaw jewelry company Józef Fraget, a renowned pioneer in galvanic silver plate production. The firm was founded in 1824 by two French businessmen, the brothers Alphonse and Joseph Fraget.

The silver plate production of the company became so popular in Russian Empire that all the silver-plated items were named simply by "fraget".
