Large Italian oil on canvas landscape painting. 

An early 19th Century grand tour painting of one of the great lakes, most likely Como or Garda. A beautifully characterful group of a fishing trip in a gondola type boat, the reflection in the water has been captured very well.

The gentlemen in traditional Italian country style and the ladies in 1820-30's period dress. In an ebonised ripple frame in the Flemish style popular in Italy in the 19th Century. The painting has been restored in several places but displays well.
