Large Napoleon III Papier Mache Chinoiserie Tray

Large 19th Century black papier-mache Chinoiserie tray. 

Beautifully decorated with male and female personages in traditional costume. Set in a lakeside garden with flowering trees plants. Four birds are perched on the roof of the teahouse and in the distance are hills, a boat and lakeside buildings. 

A lovely decorative and useful piece that would also look fabulous as a wall decoration.
